Amanda Hubball

Amanda Hubball is the Deputy Head and Subject Lead at Alfreton Nursery School.  She also leads on pedagogical approaches, including Philosophy for Children, Schema play, and Reggio Emilia, promoting the right of all children to an education which is immersed in challenge for all. Her driving force throughout her 30-year career in early years education has been her passion for every child’s right to the highest quality of education.  In her pursuit of innovative and research-based theories around emotional and cognitive regulation, metacognition came to the fore,  providing invaluable insight into how critical it is for children to be given autonomy over their learning. This search led her to ‘the revelation that is Thinking Moves, which has subsequently shaped curriculum delivery in my school and made significant impact on children’s outcomes’.
