Cindy Zheng
Cindy Zheng is an educator, trainer, and lifelong learner with more than a decade of experience in early childhood education, Philosophy for Children (P4C), and teacher professional development. Before moving to the United States, Cindy served as Co-Director of the Philosophy for Children Research Department at Xiehe Education Group and Principal of Fortune Jintaiyang Kindergarten in China for over ten years. She has been a certified P4C trainer since 2015.
Cindy has been actively involved in the introduction and development of Thinking Moves in China. She contributed to the development of the Chinese TM program and was the lead designer of the bilingual Thinking Moves Activity Book. Her work focuses on helping children and teachers become more aware of their thinking processes, develop metacognitive understanding, and cultivate thoughtful and reflective learning habits.
Drawing on her experience in both P4C and Thinking Moves, Cindy works closely with teachers to design inquiry-based learning experiences, facilitate philosophical dialogue, and identify the thinking moves that support deeper understanding. She is particularly interested in the relationship between thinking, identity, meaning-making, and self-awareness.
Now based in the United States, Cindy hopes to build bridges between Eastern and Western educational communities through Thinking Moves, philosophical inquiry, and reflective practice. She believes that when children learn to notice, examine, and develop their thinking, they are better equipped to understand themselves, others, and the world around them. Cindy is excited to continue supporting educators, developing learning resources, and exploring new opportunities to introduce Thinking Moves to schools and communities in both China and the United States.
