Julie McCann
Julie McCann is a Curriculum and Assessment Partner at School Improvement Liverpool (SIL) and an experienced Philosophy for Children (P4C) trainer who leads the development of Thinking Moves in partnership with Dialogue Works. Julie brings extensive expertise from her role supporting primary, secondary and special schools, universities and other organisations who provide education locally, nationally and internationally.
At SIL, Julie leads on PSHE, P4C, Thinking Moves and personal development and wellbeing, shaping inclusive, high‑quality curriculum and professional development. She has been instrumental in delivering Thinking Moves A–Z across Liverpool, working with multiple cohorts of schools to embed a shared language of metacognition that helps pupils understand, regulate and articulate their thinking.
She holds an MSc, NPQH and is a Teacher Education Fellow and cares passionately about the empowerment, wellbeing and education of children and young people.
